Obama Is A Trekkie

President Obama got to meet his childhood crush, Nichelle Nichols, and even showed his Trekkie side by giving the Vulcan greeting with Nichelle, who played Lt. Uhura in the Original Series.

President Obama, who himself boldly went where no man has gone before as the first African-American elected to the White House, is an admitted comic fan and “Star Trek” geek.

“Months ago, Pres Obama was quoted as saying that he’d had a crush on me when he was younger,” Nichols tweeted at the time of her White House visit in late February. “I asked about that & he proudly confirmed it! … President Obama also confirmed for me that he was definitely a Trekker! How wonderful is that?!”

Express Yourself Like Kirk

Any Trekkie would love to be Captain Kirk, at least for a bit.  Whether it’s when you’re in complete rage and you feel the need to yell from the utmost bottom of your gut the name Khan or in subtle annoyance of the multitude of tribbles that have invaded your closet, you know you want to express yourself with confident attitude the way James Tiberius Kirk does.  Why not?  I mean, c’mon, who wouldn’t want to, right?  So, here’s a little visual guide to help you.  Please practice carefully and make sure you’re using the right amount of hair product when expressing yourself as Kirk does, or it could just look plain silly.
